Applies to all models

• Set the ignition key to position 0.

• Disconnect the battery negative lead.

• Remove the screw at the lower edge of the trunk lid's upper panel, on both sides.

• Detach the panel's lower, outer and inner ends from the lower panel and pull it from the clips at the sides.

• Repeat the operation on the other side.

• Detach the boot lid's upper panel at the upper edge by using a weatherstrip tool until the clips release.

• Place the panel to one side.

• Remove the panel for the boot lid's lock.

• Remove the two screws from the opening handle.

• Carefully pry off the lighting, detach the connector and place to one side.

• Remove the lower panel by prying it off around the edge using a weatherstrip tool. Then carefully pull it off so that all the clips on the inside release.

• The cradle (1) in the centre of the inside of the panel is securely fastened. To release its catches it may be necessary to insert a screwdriver into the side of the panel, press the catches on both sides and remove the panel (see image B).

• If the car is equipped with a KV antenna, remove its connector.

• Carefully pry off the handle from the boot lid using a weatherstrip tool. It is secured by twelve catches.

• Disconnect the connector and place the handle to one side. New handle can be found in the kit.

• Carefully pry off the rear roof panel at the rear edge until the clips on the inside release and then pull backwards. Place the panel to one side.

• Remove the upper part of the side panel.

• Slacken off the two screws that hold the boot lid's sill at the crossmember a few turns.

• Carefully pull off the trunk lid's sill panel. The panel is secured by six clips.

• Remove the seat cushion by pulling it up at the front edge on both sides. The seat cushion is secured by two holders on the lower side.

• Fold the left-hand backrest forward.

• Remove the side cushion on the left by first pulling it backwards at the upper edge until the hooks (1) release. Then pull it inwards slightly until the hook (2) releases, and upwards until the locating pin (3) disengages from the mounting at the rear edge.

• Remove the C-pillar panel by carefully pulling it out at the lower edge so that the two retaining clips release.

• Pull it out at the upper edge until the last clip releases.

• Carefully unhook it from the roof panel.

• Take the angled end of a scriber and pull off the cover washers for the screws for the load securing eyelets.

• Remove the screws for the load securing eyelets and the screws at the front edge of the side panel.

• Remove the left-hand side panel by grasping it at the upper edge and carefully pulling it from the car body. Lift up the panel and pull it to one side. The panel is secured by six clips.

• Take the camera, new handle and screws from the kit.

• Tighten the camera to the handle.

• Take the cradles from the kit and cut them from each other.

• Press the lower cradle onto the camera.

• Take the cable harness marked A from the kit and insert the cable in the right-hand oval hole in the panel and out through the hole where the handle was.

• Pull the cable harness through the right-hand hole in the boot lid.

• Connect the cable harness connector to the camera.

• Press the upper cradle into the lower round connector.

• Insert the connector with camera into the hole on the right side of the boot lid.

• Connect the connector and press the handle into place.

• Tighten the handle with existing screws.

• Route the cable along the existing cable to the heating elements in the rear window towards the right-hand side of the boot lid.

• Route it along the right-hand side of the boot lid window up to the upper edge of it.

• Clamp it using a cable tie from the kit and pieces of butyl tape.

• Drill two Ø 6.5 mm (17/64 ") holes for clamping the cable at the upper edge of the boot lid, in the positions illustrated.

• Remove any swarf.

• Press two cable ties with clips into the drilled holes.

• Press the cable into a piece of butyl tape above the right-hand hole for the panel's clips so that it does not get trapped when the panel is reinstalled.

• Tighten the cable with the clamps.

• Carefully pry off the left-hand side of the rubber grommet so that the catches release.

• Unhook the rubber grommet from the boot lid.

• Carry out the same with the end that is in the body.

• Insert the cable through the hole in the boot lid and out through the hole in which the rubber grommet was located.

• Clamp the cable at the hole edge using a cable tie with edge clips.

• Insert the piece of wire through the boot lid's rubber grommet.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable at the wire.

• Lubricate the taped connector with low temperature grease.

  
  

  Note! The low temperature grease must not contain water.

  
  

• Remove the tape and wire spring.

• Insert the cable through the hole in the body.

• Take the receptacle housing section of the connector with the two metal strips from the kit.

• Carefully place the connector in the receptacle housing section with the round section (1) of the connector aligned in the corresponding cut-out (1) in the receptacle housing section. The upturned section (2) of the connector must also be aligned in the corresponding cut-out in the receptacle housing section.

• Carefully place the other receptacle housing section on the connector. The upturned section (2) of the connector must be aligned in the corresponding cut-out in the receptacle housing section.

• Press the receptacle housings and connector together until the four catches engage.

• Reinstall the rubber grommet in the body and boot lid.

• Route the cable harness to the left towards the D pillar.

• Route at the D pillar along the existing cable harness to the rear edge of the fuse holder.

• Secure it using seven cable ties along the existing cable harness.

• Insert a piece of wire under the rear edge on the load floor support along the thick cable harness and forward.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable on the routed cable harness (Image B) on the wire.

• Carefully pull the cable harness forward.

• Clamp the cable at the cradle on the bracket for the washer hose and under the fuse holder.

• Measure the dimensions from the lugs in the floor and from the edge at the floor's embossing, and apply pieces of tape for marking the location of the ECU.

• Position the ECU along the markings and mark out the last short end.

• Clean the surfaces on both sides of the embossing in the floor using isopropanol and wipe dry.

• Clean the two surfaces on the short sides of the ECU. There are faint marks where the Velcro strips are to be applied.

• Take the Velcro strips from the kit and cut them in the middle to create four equal parts.

• Press the Velcro strips two and two.

• Remove the protective tape from one side of the two attached Velcro strips.

• Press the Velcro strips into place at the markings on the ECU unit as illustrated.

• Remove the protective tape from the Velcro fasteners.

• Press the ECU unit securely into place according to the pieces of tape.

• Remove the pieces of tape.

• Connect the connector and the routed cable to the ECU unit.

Applies to vehicles with factory fitted RTI

• Connect the existing power supply cable.

• Locate the cable (1) from the RTI screen, it is in foam rubber in the connection to the MMM module.

• Connect the cable.

Applies to vehicles without RTI

• Remove the rear sill panel at the left front door by first prying loose the clips starting at the front and working back.

• Unhook the panel at the rear edge.

• Remove the tunnel console's panel. It is fastened with seven clips on the inside.

• Carefully pry loose the panel with air blower all round. The panel is secured by five clips on the sides and at the top and with four catches on the lower edge.

• Pull out the panel and disconnect the connector for the hazard warning lights.

• Insert a small screwdriver in the gap on the media player. Press in the inner catch and carefully pry off the surround on one side using a weatherstrip tool.

• Repeat on the other side and remove it.

• Remove the four screws at the upper edge of the panel.

• Push in the catches on the cover, fold it downwards and remove.

• Remove the screw inside the panel.

• Remove the three remaining screws from the reverse of the centre console.

• Remove the tunnel console's right-hand side panel by carefully pulling it away starting at the front edge. The side panel is secured with five clips on the inside.

• Fold the floor mat to one side by the left-hand side of the tunnel console.

• Loosen the clips on the cable harness from the tunnel console.

• Disconnect the connectors for the CCM.

• Loosen the connector to the keypad for CCD, if the car is equipped with this.

Applies to vehicles with an automatic gearbox

• Release the shift-lock function.

• Move the gear selector to position "D".

• Carefully pry off the centre console's panel starting at both sides at the rear edge. It is secured by two clips along the long sides and four hooks around the gear lever's panel.

• Lift it up slightly and make sure that all cables are free from the gear lever carrier and components in the tunnel console, and lift it out.

• Pull the CD player out slightly and unplug the connectors on the rear side.

• Place the CD player to one side.

• Remove the screws from the front edge of the storage compartment, which holds the tunnel console at the body.

• Remove the two screws in the rear storage compartment.

• Remove the screws that hold the tunnel console at the dashboard's bracket, on both sides.

• Remove the two screws at the bottom of the centre console's lower panel.

• Carefully pry at one end of the mounting bracket so that the entire centre console moves backwards a few centimetres until the bracket engages the air ducts on both sides.

• Position a small sleeve between both brackets so the centre console does not move back.

Cable harness marked B and C in the kit are only used for vehicles without installed display.

• Take the cable harness marked B from the kit and connect to the control module.

• Route it under the insulation at the existing cable duct and up to the door opening at the left-hand rear door.

• Pull out the B post panel at the lower edge until the two clips release.

• Continue to route the cable harness inside the B pillar panel and forwards in the car. Route the cable harness along the left-hand side, in front of the floor and insulation panels, up to the front edge of the door opening.

• Route the cable harness in the mat joint under the driver's seat towards the tunnel console and inside the mat.

• Route it through the tunnel console, in front of the air ducts and out on the other side. Use a piece of wire to route the cables through, if necessary.

• Take the cable harness C from the kit and tape the short and the long ones next to each other.

• Place the two large connectors for the cable harness where the two 32-pin connectors were previously disconnected from each other.

• Route the thin ground cable (1) in the mat joint in the same direction as cable harness B to the control module.

Only applies to left-hand drive vehicles

• Route through the thicker cable (2) to the display through the tunnel console in front of the air ducts and out the other side. Use a wire to route the cables through, if necessary.

• Route the ground cable the same way as cable harness B, up to the control module.

• Press the B pillar panel into place again.

• Carefully open the secondary lock on the 16-pin green connector, which is by the cable duct's rear cut-out.

• Take special tool, part no. 9512637 and carefully press into the hole above the connector in terminal 15 to release the cable terminal's primary lock.

• Pull out the existing cable, insulate the cable terminal and tape the cable at the cable harness to the connector.

• Now press the routed ground lead's cable terminal into terminal 15 in the green connector.

• Press the connector's secondary lock securely into place.

• Connect the green connector to the ECU unit.

• Clamp the ground cable using cable ties at the rear edge of the cable duct.

• Press two cable ties with edge clips in the bracket legs for the electric parking brake, or media player, and clamp the cable to these.

• Clean the marked surfaces on the of the rear crossmember and floor using isopropanol, and wipe dry.

• Secure the cable using wide pieces of silver or woven tape along the rear crossmember and to the floor.

• Connect the ground lead's ring cable terminal to the ground terminal closest to the spare wheel well.

• Tighten the ground screw to 10 Nm (7.5 Ibf.ft).

• Carefully pull the panel backwards so that the spring nuts for the display can be accessed.

• Take the display from the kit.

• Connect the connectors from the two routed cables from the control module and power supply to the display.

• Install the display.

• Take the screws from the kit and tighten the display.

• Move the panel back into place and ensure that the locating pins enter their holes.

• Remove any spacers.

• Move the centre console back into position.

• Take the panel with CCM and insert the cables in the tunnel console.

• Place it at the upper edge and secure it with clips at the rear edge.

• Secure the panel in the centre console. Make sure that all clips engage.

• Connect the connector (1) that was disconnected from the tunnel console's left-hand side to the corresponding connector (2) in the routed adapter cable.

• Attach clips to the cable harness in the tunnel console.

• Connect the remaining connectors to each other.

• Wrap foam tape around the loose connectors and position them inside the mats so that they do not move.

• Secure the long cables at the existing cable harness using cable ties from the kit.

Replacement of the panel for the air vent

• Poke the catches downwards using a small screwdriver.

• Fold down the air nozzle and unhook it from the four mounting eyelets at the lower edge of the panel.

• Poke the catches on the hazard warning button in and push the button out.

• Place the panel to one side and take new screws from the kit.

• Connect the hazard warning light connector.

• Secure the panel. Make sure that all air nozzles align correctly in the air ducts in the dashboard and that all clips and catches engage.

• Reinstall the tunnel console's panel on both sides.

• Install new clips in the lower panel.

• Pull the cables for the lighting and contact for the door opener out through the hole in the panel.

• If the car is equipped with a KV antenna, connect its connector.

• secure the panel and ensure that all clips engage.

Applies to vehicles with electric opener for boot lid

Applies to all models

• Check that all clips are intact and properly positioned. Replace any broken clips.

• Reinstall the upper panel by first pressing the upper edge and then the sides at the same time as aligning the lower panel.

• Reconnect the battery negative lead

• Set the ignition switch to position II.

• Download software (application) for the accessory's function according to service information in VIDA. See VIDA or accessories catalogue for article number on software.

Perform the function test as follows.

• Engage reverse gear.

• Activate the screen for RTI.

• Wait for the message "Update Environment" to appear on the screen.

• Follow the on-screen instructions

• Switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds.

• Turn the ignition on

• Activate the screen for RTI

• Check that the support lines appear on the screen and that these react to steering wheel movements.

• Check the position of the camera using the calibration program. See VIDA under "DIAGNOSTICS/Vehicle communication/Advanced".
