Information

• Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.

• Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.

• Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.

Color symbols

1. Used for focused component, the component with which you will do something.

2. Used as extra colors when you need to show or differentiate additional parts.

3. Used for attachments that are to be removed/installed. May be screws, clips, connectors, etc.

4. Used when the component is not fully removed from the vehicle but only hung to the side.

5. Used for standard tools and special tools.

6. Used as background color for vehicle components.

7. Used for accessory components.

Further information

There may be parts in the accessories kit that are not needed for this installation.

Preparation

Disconnecting the battery

Open the tailgate.

Remove the marked part.

Loosen the nut.

Remove the battery's negative cable.

Removal

Release the catches.

Repeat on the other side.

Remove the marked part.

Release the catches.

Loosen the component indicated. Do not remove it.

Release the catches.

Repeat on the other side.

Remove the marked part.

Accessory installation

Clean the marked area.

Use: , Isopropanol

1. Lift approximately 2 mm.

2. Remove the marked part.

Place the component where indicated in the graphic.

Measure

Mark using a pen

Apply tape.

Use: , Masking tape

Apply a thin and even layer.

Use: 1161823, Activator

Remove the tape.

Remove the protective film.

Allow to dry for at least 20 minutes.

Removal

Loosen the component indicated. Do not remove it.

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the panel.

Remove the panel.

Disconnect the connector, if applicable.

Loosen the screws.

Remove the panel.

Remove the marked part.

Remove the screw.

Tightening torque: Panel A-pillar , 4.5 Nm

Remove the panel.

Use: Interior trim remover

Release the lock.

Repeat on the other side.

Remove the marked part.

Remove the screw.

Fold marked part aside.

Release the catch.

Remove the marked part.

Remove the panel.

Remove the panel.

Remove the marked part.

Remove the screw.

Tightening torque: Panel, to C pillar , 4.5 Nm

Remove the marked part.

Remove the screw.

Remove the marked part.

Install the marked component.

Detach the panel.

Remove the panel.

Accessory installation

Clean the marked area.

Use: , Isopropanol

Remove the protective film.

Install component that comes with the accessory kit.

Assemble components that come with the accessory kit.

Wrap a Velcro strap around the wire to increase the diameter.

Use: , Velcro strip

Position/route the cable as illustrated.

Route the wire adjacent to existing wirings.

Use: , Velcro strip

Straighten the cable.

Remove the marking.

Use: , Isopropanol

Install component that comes with the accessory kit.

Route the wire adjacent to existing wirings.

Use: , Velcro strip

Install components that come with the accessory kit.

Connect the connectors.

Position/route the cables as illustrated.

Route the wires adjacent to existing wirings.

Use: , Velcro strip

Fold the insulation aside.

Position/route the cables as illustrated.

assemble the cables.

Fold the carpet aside.

Remove the marked part.

Position/route the cables as illustrated.

Remove fuses.

The parts are not to be reused.

Install components that come with the accessory kit.

Route the wires adjacent to existing wirings.

Position the cable harness excess as illustrated.

Connect the ground cable.

Install the nut.

Tightening torque: M6 , 10 Nm

Route the wires adjacent to existing wirings.

Connecting the battery

Reinstall the battery's negative cable.

Tighten the nut.

Tightening torque: M6 , 10 Nm

Download the app for the accessory according to the camera's manual

Connect the app to the camera

1. Adjust the camera lens vertically so that the rear edge of the hood is visible at the bottom of the image in the app.

2. Adjust the camera lens vertically so that the lower edge of the rear window is visible at the bottom of the image in the app.

Installation

Check for correct operation.

Reinstall the removed parts in reverse order.
