Rear parking assistance is an excellent system that warns of obstructions when you have limited space behind the car, e.g. with tight parking.
The system is activated when reverse gear is engaged. The radio's/stereo's sound level is muted and a pulsating "buzzer tone" starts to sound in the car's rear speakers when approx. 150 cm (59 in) remain to the obstruction and becomes a constant tone when the obstruction is approx. 30 cm (11.8 in) from the rear bumper.
The kit comprises four sensors that are mounted almost out of view in the rear bumper, a control module, wiring and a button in the center console. The system can be switched off manually using the button in the center console.
The system is automatically switched off when reversing with a trailer.
The sensors on the S80, S60 and V70 are painted in the same colour as the car's bumper.
The accessory electronic module (AEM) is not required for this accessory.
