RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) is the ultimate entertainment system for passengers in the rear seat.
The RSE consists of an integrated DVD player in the front main unit, two independent 8" widescreen screens mounted in the front head restraints, a remote control and two sets of independent, wireless IR headphones.
The system's AUX input makes it possible to connect auxiliary equipment, such as game console, iPod®, MP3 player, video camera, laptop or another portable DVD-player.
A USB interface that is video compatible enables playback of movies stored on a USB memory or portable hard disk for example.
The two 8" monitors are independent of one another, which makes it possible to watch a DVD movie on one screen while using the other to play video games or other connected AUX source. This generates individual entertainment in the backseat - without arguments over the choice of entertainment.
The RSE system's and other infotainment functions can be operated using the wireless multifunction remote control. All you need to do is point the remote control at the screen you want to change.
You can always use the RSE-system's independent wireless IR-headphones to listen to a movie or music. The car's speaker system can also be sued by connecting the unit the car's existing audio system.
The RSE system supports the following video and audio formats:

The screens and installation in the head restraints have been thoroughly tested and fulfill Volvo's stringent requirements regarding impact safety.
Independent playback on each screen from the DVD player or the AUX input

Two x Wireless IR headsets, more can be connected.
The remote control is a multi-function remote, which can also control other infotainment systems in the car.
