Applies to all models

• Set the ignition key to position 0.

• Remove the screw at the lower edge of the boot lid's upper panel. Perform on both sides.

• Detach the panel's lower, outer and inner ends from the lower panel, and pull it from the clip at the sides.

• Repeat the operation on the other side.

• Detach the boot lid's upper panel at the upper edge by using a weatherstrip tool until the clips release.

• Place the panel to one side.

• Remove the panel for the boot lid's lock.

• Remove the two screws from the opening handle.

• Carefully pry off the lighting, detach the connector and place to one side.

• Unplug the connector from the contact and place to one side.

• Remove the lower panel by first prying loose the four clips at the bottom.

• Then pull the panel off carefully, insert a pair of flat-nosed pliers, press the locking pin's hooks together and pull the locking pin out.

• Continue to pull the panel down carefully until the four upper clips release.

• Remove the six nuts securing the handle.

• Carefully pry off the handle from the boot lid using a weatherstrip tool. It is secured by twelve catches.

• Disconnect the connector and place the handle to one side. New handle can be found in the kit.

• Carefully pry off the rear roof panel at the rear edge until the clip on the inside releases and then pull backward. Place the panel to one side.

• Remove the upper part of the side panel.

• Slacken off the two screws that hold the boot lid's sill at the crossmember a few turns.

• Carefully pull off the trunk lid's sill panel. The panel is secured by six clips.

• Remove the seat cushion by pushing in the sprung lock (1) underneath and then pulling upward (2).

• Repeat the operation on the other side.

Applies to cars with electrically heated seat cushions

• Disconnect the connectors by the sides at the rear edge of the seat cushion.

• Fold the left-hand backrest forward.

• Remove the side cushion on the left by first pulling it backwards at the upper edge until the hooks (1) release. Then pull it inwards slightly until the hook (2) releases, and upwards until the locating pin (3) disengages from the mounting at the rear edge.

• Remove the C-pillar panel by carefully pulling it out at the lower edge so that the two retaining clips release.

• Pull it out at the upper edge until the last clip releases.

• Carefully unhook it from the roof panel.

• Take the angled end of a scriber and pull off the cover washers for the screws for the load securing eyelets.

• Remove the screws for the load securing eyelets and the screws at the front edge of the side panel.

• Remove the left-hand side panel by grasping it at the upper edge and carefully pulling it from the car body. Lift up the panel and pull it to one side. The panel is secured by six clips.

• Take the camera, new handle and screws from the kit.

• Tighten the camera to the handle.

• Take the cable harness marked A from the kit and insert the cable in the large hole in the panel and out through the hole where the handle was.

• Pull the cable harness through the right-hand hole in the boot lid.

• Connect the cable harness connector to the camera. Ensure that the catch engaged again properly.

• Insert the connector with camera into the hole on the right side of the boot lid.

• Connect the connector on the left-hand side and press the handle into place.

• Tighten the handle with existing screws.

• Route the cable along the existing cable to the heating elements in the rear window towards the right-hand side of the boot lid.

• Route it along the right-hand side of the boot lid window up to the upper edge of it.

• clamp it using a cable tie from the kit and pieces of butyl tape.

• Drill two Ø 6.5 mm (17/64 ") holes for clamping the cable at the upper edge of the boot lid, in the positions illustrated.

• Remove any swarf.

• Press two cable ties with clips into the drilled holes.

• Press the cable into a piece of butyl tape above the right-hand hole for the panel's clips so that it does not get trapped when the panel is reinstalled.

• Tighten the cable with the clamps.

• Carefully pry off the left-hand side of the rubber grommet so that the catches release.

• Unhook the rubber grommet from the boot lid.

• Carry out the same with the end that is in the body.

• Insert the cable through the hole in the boot lid and out through the hole in which the rubber grommet was located.

• Clamp the cable at the hole edge using a cable tie with edge clips.

• Insert the piece of wire through the boot lid's rubber grommet.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable at the wire.

• Lubricate the taped connector with low temperature grease.

• Remove the tape and wire spring.

• Insert the cable through the hole in the body.

• Take the receptacle housing with catch for the camera cable's contact from the kit.

• Press the receptacle housing onto the connector until a click is heard.

• Press the catch securely into the receptacle housing.

• Reinstall the rubber grommet in the body and boot lid.

• Route the cable harness to the left towards the D pillar.

• Route at the D pillar along the existing cable harness to the rear edge of the fuse holder.

• Secure it using seven cable ties along the existing cable harness.

• Insert a piece of wire under the rear edge on the load floor support along the thick cable harness and forward.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable on the routed cable harness (Image B) on the wire.

• Carefully pull the cable harness forward.

• Clamp the cable at the cradle on the bracket for the washer hose and under the fuse holder.

• Bend off the covers over the seat's attachments and remove the screws.

• Carefully bend off the covers in the driver seat's rear attachments with a weatherstrip tool.

• Remove the screws.

• Move back the seat slightly to expose the front floor mat at the trailing edge.

• Remove the rear sill panel at the left front door by first prying loose the clips starting at the front and working back.

• Unhook the panel at the rear edge.

• Remove the tunnel console's panel. It is fastened with seven clips on the inside.

• Carefully pry loose the panel with air blower all round. The panel is secured by five clips on the sides and at the top and with four mounting springs on the lower edge.

• Pull out the panel and disconnect the connector for the hazard warning lights.

• Insert a small screwdriver in the gap on the media player. Press in the inner catch and carefully pry off the surround on one side using a weatherstrip tool.

• Repeat on the other side and remove it.

• Remove the four screws at the upper edge of the panel.

• Push in the catches on the cover, fold it downwards and remove.

• Remove the screw inside the panel.

• Remove the three remaining screws from the reverse of the centre console.

• Remove the tunnel console's right-hand side panel by carefully pulling it away starting at the front edge. The side panel is secured with five clips on the inside.

• Fold the floor mat to one side by the left-hand side of the tunnel console.

• Loosen the clips on the cable harness from the tunnel console.

• Disconnect the connectors for the CCM.

• Loosen the connector to the keypad for CCD, if the car is equipped with this.

Applies to cars with automatic transmission

• Release the shift-lock function.

• Move the gear selector to position "D".

• Carefully pry off the centre console's panel starting at both sides at the rear edge. It is secured by two clips along the long sides and four hooks around the gear lever's panel.

• Lift it up slightly and make sure that all cables are free from the gear lever carrier and components in the tunnel console, and lift it out.

• Pull the CD player out slightly and unplug the connectors on the rear side.

• Place the CD player to one side.

• Remove the screws from the front edge of the storage compartment, which holds the tunnel console at the body.

• remove the two screws in the rear storage compartment.

• Remove the screws that hold the tunnel console at the dashboard's bracket, on both sides.

• Remove the two screws at the bottom of the centre console's lower panel.

• Carefully pry at one end of the mounting bracket so that the entire centre console moves backwards a few centimetres until the bracket engages the air ducts on both sides.

• Position a small sleeve between both brackets so the centre console does not move back.

For all cars with display

• Carefully pull the panel backwards so that the screws for the display can be accessed.

• Remove the four screws.

• Disconnect the two connectors from the display and place them to one side.

• In cases where a connector is connected to the designated position, loosen the connector, fold back the cable and secure the connector to the existing cable harness.

• Use: Electrical tape.

• Continue to route cable harness A from the camera in the boot lid under the insulation mat at the existing cable duct and to the door opening in the left-hand rear door.

• Pull out the B post panel at the lower edge until the two clips release.

• Continue to route the cable harness in front of the B-pillar panel and to the front of the car to the joint between the front and rear floor mat.

Routing cable harness B

• Take cable harness B from the kit and route it into the mat joint under the left-hand seat towards the tunnel console and in front of the mat. Leave some cable, approximately 350 mm (13 3/4 ") in length, outside the mat joint, so that it can later be connected to the control module that is to be positioned there.

• Route it through the tunnel console, in front of the air ducts and out on the other side. If necessary, use a piece of wire to route the cables through.

Applies to right-hand drive cars

Routing cable harness B

• Route the cable harness into the mat joint under the driver's seat towards the tunnel console, in front of the mat and out onto the floor. Leave some cable, approximately 350 mm (13 3/4 ") in length, outside the mat joint, so that it can later be connected to the control module that is to be positioned there.

Applies to all cars that do not have a pre-mounted display.

Routing cable harness C

• Take cable harness C from the kit. The shorter ground lead has a lot of excess that can be hidden under the mat by the left-hand seat.

• Tilt the left-hand seat back.

• Place the two large connectors for the cable harness where the two 32-pin connectors were previously disconnected from each other.

• Route the thinner ground leads (1) into the mat joint in the same direction as cable harness B, along the member for the front seat mounting where the control module will be installed later on.

• Pull up the shorter ground lead (2) from the mat joint so that approximately 350 mm 13 3/4 " protrudes from the mat joint.

• Continue to route the longer of the ground leads the same way as cable harness A backwards towards the rear crossmember.

Only applies to left-hand drive vehicles.

• Route through the thicker cable (3) to the display through the tunnel console in front of the air ducts and out the other side. Use a wire to route the cables through, if necessary.

Routing the ground cable in cable harness C, continued

• route the ground lead the same way as cable harness A towards the rear crossmember.

• Press the B pillar panel into place again.

• Clamp the ground cable using cable ties at the rear edge of the cable duct.

• Press two cable ties with edge clips in the bracket legs for the electric parking brake, or media player, and clamp the cable to these.

• Clean the marked surfaces on the of the rear crossmember and floor using isopropanol and wipe dry.

• Secure the cable using wide pieces of silver or woven tape along the rear crossmember and to the floor.

• Connect the ground lead's ring cable terminal to the ground terminal closest to the spare wheel well.

• Tighten the ground screw. Tighten to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).

• Cut off the cable terminal on the short ground lead in cable harness C. A new cable terminal is in the kit.

Splicing with insulated damp-sealed crimping sleeve

• Splice the black ground lead in cable harness C and the cable splice from the kit.

• Strip the the cable end in accordance with the above table. Use stripping pliers, P/N 9512620.

Pressing the sleeve

• Insert the crimping sleeve in the press tool P/N 9512785. Select the socket as per colour coding. Clamp the pliers together slightly, but only so that the crimping sleeve remains in the pliers.

• Insert the cable in the crimping sleeve until it reaches the stop.

• Press the legs of the pliers completely together to ensure a proper splice. The pliers will then release automatically.

• With your hand, check that the crimping sleeve is securely in place.

Heating the crimping sleeve

• Place a suitable shield behind the cables to be crimped to prevent thermal stress to the surrounding area.

• Warm the sleeve with a hot air gun, P/N 9512777, and suitable nozzle. It is extremely important that the crimping sleeve be securely crimped around the cable. You should be able to see that a little bit of glue has been forced out around the cable. (Illustration B).

Applies to all models

• Take the pre-routed power lead with the green connector from under the mat at the left-hand seat's left front mounting.

Applies to all cars that do not have a pre-mounted display.

• Pry up the catch on the green connector.

• Take special tool, part no. 9512637 and carefully press into the hole above the cable terminal in position 1 to release the catch.

• Pull out the existing black cable.

• Carefully push the new cable terminal on the newly spliced ground lead into Pos 1 in the connector.

• Press the connector's catch securely into place.

• Insulate and tape the excess cable terminal at the connector's cable harness.

• Place the cables in the cut-out in the floor mat.

• take control module, bracket and two screws from the kit.

• Tighten the control module to the bracket.

• Press the clip with cable tie into the bracket's lower hole.

• Take the control module with bracket and connect all pre-routed cables to it.

• Collect the cables and clamp them using the cable tie in the bracket.

• If necessary, insert any excess inside the floor mat.

• Install the control module with bracket using screws from the kit.

Applies to left-hand drive cars

• Insert the wire into the centre console, up towards the compartment above the air outlet and out through the hole on the right-hand side in the compartment where the display is to be positioned.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable(s) at the spring wire.

• Route the cable(s) on the right-hand side in the compartment where the media player was located.

• Pull the cable(s) forward.

Applies to right-hand drive cars

Routing cable harness B/cable harness C

• Insert the wire into the centre console, up towards the compartment above the air outlet and out through the hole on the left-hand side in the compartment where the display is to be positioned.

• Tape the connector and a piece of the cable at the wire spring.

• Route the cable(s) on the left-hand side in the compartment where the media player was located.

• Pull the cable(s) forward.

Applies to all with a mounted display

• Connect the remaining connector to the display.

• Connect the connectors to the display.

• Connect the connector on the routed cable to display.

Applies to all where the display is included in the kit.

• Carefully pull the panel back so that the new display can be installed.

• Take the display from the kit.

• Connect the connector from the routed cable for the power supply to display.

• Connect the connector on the routed cable to display.

Applies to all models

• Reinstall the display.

• Take screws from the kit or use existing screws and tighten the display.

• Move the panel back into place and ensure that the locating pins enter their holes.

• Remove any spacers.

• Move the centre console back into position.

• Take the panel with CCM and insert the cables in the tunnel console.

• Place it at the upper edge and secure it with clips at the rear edge.

• Secure the panel in the centre console. Make sure that all clips engage.

Applies to all cars that have a pre-mounted display.

Applies to cars that do not have a pre-mounted display.

• Connect the connector (1) that was disconnected from the tunnel console's left-hand side to the corresponding connector (2) in the routed adapter cable.

• Attach clips to the cable harness in the tunnel console.

• Connect the remaining connectors to each other.

• Wrap foam tape around the loose connectors and position them inside the mats so that they do not move.

• Secure the long cables at the existing cable harness using cable ties from the kit.

Applies to all models

Applies to cars that do not have a pre-mounted display.

Replacement of the panel for the air vent

• Poke the catches downwards using a small screwdriver.

• Fold down the air nozzle and unhook it from the four mounting eyelets at the lower edge of the panel.

• Poke the catches on the hazard warning button in and push the button out.

• Place the panel to one side and take new screws from the kit.

Applies to all models

• Connect the hazard warning light connector.

• Secure the panel. Make sure that all air nozzles align correctly in the air ducts in the dashboard and that all clips and catches engage.

• Reinstall the tunnel console's panel on both sides.

Applies to cars with electrically heated seat cushions

Applies to all models

• Install new clips in the lower panel.

• Pull the cables for the lighting and contact for the door opener out through the hole in the panel.

• If the car is equipped with a KV antenna, connect its connector.

• Secure the panel and ensure that all clips have engaged.

Applies to cars with electric opener for boot lid

Applies to all models

• Check that all clips are intact and properly positioned. Replace any broken clips.

• Reinstall the upper panel by first pressing the upper edge and then the sides at the same time as aligning the lower panel.

• Set the ignition switch to position II.
