INTRODUCTION

  • Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.

  • Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.

  • Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.

  • Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.

  • In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.

  

Note!

These installation instructions apply to left-hand drive vehicles. When installing in a right-hand drive vehicle, the procedure is carried out on the opposite side and/or mirrored. Where the operation differs, right-hand versions are also displayed with text and images.

  • Remove the side cushion by first pulling it backwards at the upper edge until the hooks (1) release. Then pull it inwards slightly until the hook (2) releases, and upwards until the locating pin (3) disengages from the mounting at the rear edge.

  • Use: 9995919 Pull hook. Insert into the holes on the upper edge of the cover. Turn the tool and pull off the cover.

  • Remove the screws for the loading eyelets.

    Tightening torque M8 screws: 24 Nm (17.7 lbf.ft)

Applies to cars with headlamp washing

  • Place a container under the car.

  • Release the catch (1) on the connection for the washer pump.

  • Pull the connection (2) straight out.

  • Allow the washer fluid to run into the container.


Hint

Use a drain hose. Or plug the connection on the pump with a suitable rubber plug.

  • Locate the hole for the rubber grommet on the cowl panel.

On certain models this may be covered by the heat insulation.

  • Cut off a small rubber nipple. Lubricate the cable harness using soap solution and thread through.

  • Route the cable harness into the passenger compartment. Adjust the length.

  • Install the rubber grommet and move the heat shield on the cable harness towards the rubber grommet.

  • Reinstall the engine splash guard.

  • Lower the car.

  • Reinstall the engine cover.
