Parking assistance, front

Parking assistance, front

Op. No.: 36687 36630

Front parking assistance is an excellent system that warns of obstructions when you have limited space in front of the car, e.g. for parallel parking.

The system is activated when the speed falls below 15 km/h. A signal indicates the distance to an object in front of the car. When an object is indicated, the radio/stereo volume is muted and a pulsating "buzzer tone" starts to sound in the car's front loudspeakers.

The tone starts to sound when about 80 cm remains to an obstacle and increases to a constant tone when the distance is about 30 cm from the front bumper. In order to distinguish between the front and rear systems, different frequencies are used for the tone and the sound comes from different speakers, front or rear.

The kit consists of wiring and four sensors that are installed just about invisibly in the front bumper. The sensors are painted in the same colour as the car's bumper.

The system can be easily deactivated with the push of a button using the switch below, which is useful because the system can sometimes produce "false" signals in response to external sound sources with the same frequency as the system's sensors. Typically, such sources are horns, wet tyres on asphalt, pneumatic brakes and motorcycle exhaust pipes.
