Alarm, general description

Excl. IL

An advanced remote-controlled alarm system, specifically developed for S40/V50.

The alarm system is fully integrated with the electrical system of the S/40V50 and is therefore highly reliable. The alarm can be configured to meet market requirements and is designed to fulfill all insurance and legal requirements.

Facts and Advantages

  • Rotating codes are transmitted from the remote control to prevent unauthorized individuals copying the key codes

  • The remote control key activates/deactivates the alarm at the same time as the car is locked/unlocked

  • Range 100 m (328 ft)

  • A visual acknowledgement signal is obtained on activation and deactivation of the alarm. The direction indicators flash once on activation and twice on deactivation

  • Deadlocks activated after 15 seconds when the car has been locked using the remote control. (Not standard in all markets.)

  • Alarm diode. Positioned at the top of the dashboard. The alarm status is displayed in the information display in the combination instrument. Example: In event of deployed alarm or malfunction

  • Panic function. In an emergency it is possible to gain attention by pressing the red button on the remote control. Both the visual and audible signals are activated. The standard car horn is used. The function is included in the car's central locking system. (Certain markets only. Not permitted in EU.)

  • Temporary disconnection of sensors.

The installed sensors and BLL are disconnected using the menu option (car settings) on the dashboard. Refer to the car's Owner's Manual if necessary.

Used to avoid unintentional triggering of the alarm, if your dog is left in the car or during a ferry crossing for example.

  • Bypassing the alarm. In event of malfunction or loss of a remote control the car can be started and the alarm deactivated with standard ignition key. Deactivation occurs when the ignition switch receives an approved code from the transponder in the ignition key

  • Reactivating the alarm occurs automatically if no door or tailgate/trunk lid has been opened within two minutes after the alarm has been deactivated using the remote control. This is to prevent accidental deactivation

  • Passive activation. After the ignition has been switched off and the driver's door has been opened and closed, the alarm is activated automatically. (Certain markets only.)

  • Sensors. The following sensors can be connected to the alarm system, separately or in combination:

    - The movement sensor 1 triggers the alarm when movement is detected in the passenger compartment. A valuable addition to the basic equipment.

    - Level sensor detects changes in the car's inclination, e.g. when the wheels are being stolen.

Note!

The alarm is connected using VIDA.
