Tire Pressure Monitoring System (dTPMS)1 is a monitoring system for the tire pressure. A correctly inflated tire means less tire wear, lower fuel consumption and safer driving.
The TPMS system uses sensors that are located in the air valves to monitor tire pressure levels. When the sensors detect an incorrect tire pressure, the warning light on the dashboard comes on to indicate incorrect tire pressure. A message also appears in the driver display. When the tire pressure light comes on, this means that one or more tires has incorrect tire pressure.

Facts and advantages
Volvo recommends TPMS sensors on all the wheels of the car.
The TPMS system serves to indicate incorrect tire pressure, but is not to be used as a replacement for normal tire maintenance.
When the car travels at 30 km/h (18.6 mph) or faster, the sensors supply data to a receiver inside the car.

Note!
The TPMS system uses a 434 MHz radio frequency. Electrical equipment that uses the same frequency can cause system interference and must not be installed in the car. Contact an authorized Volvo dealer for further information.
Note!
TPMS can also be installed on steel rims installed in the factory from and incl. Ch 383789-.
- Direct TPMS (dTPMS) contains sensors and an application. Indirect TPMS (iTPMS) only contains an application, and is used on cars from Ch 675937-.
- Ordered following a separate procedure and downloaded using VIDA.
