"Alcohol lock, preparatory installation" is a preparation in the vehicle that simplifies the connection of an alcohol interlock. With an alcohol interlock in the vehicle, you prevent the vehicle from being started with a drunk driver behind the wheel.
What is unique about the "Alcohol lock, preparatory installation" is that the preparation allows the alcohol interlock to be integrated with the vehicle's functions. You can get instructions and messages from the alcohol interlock in the main display, e.g. information that the engine can be started or that you need to take a breath test.
