INTRODUCTION

  • Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.

  • Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.

  • Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.

  • Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.

  • In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.

Preparations

  • Turn the ignition key to position 0.


    Note!

    Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.

  • Carefully pry off the side mirror's cover. Use a weatherstrip tool.

  • Remove the upper section of the door handle by carefully prying in the joint using a weatherstrip tool.

  • Remove the two screws inside.

  • Press in the centre of all eight clips around the panel and carefully pry off the panel by the side of the clips.

  • Lift up the panel and unhook it at the upper edge.

  • Disconnect the wire for the door opener and the connectors.

  • Remove the nut and disconnect the connector for the mirror and remove it.

  • Carefully pry off the mirror glass.

  • Carefully disconnect the two cables from the mirror glass. The glass will be reused.

  • Press out the mirror's cover using a small screwdriver.

  • Remove the screw holding the mirror motor.

  • Detach the motor by carefully prying up the catches at the side and underneath using a small screwdriver.

  • Unhook the motor from the remaining catches and disconnect the connector.

    The motor will be reused.

Installation

  • Take a new mirror from the kit.

  • Connect the connector and install the mirror motor in the new mirror. Ensure that all catches engage.

  • Install the screw to the mirror motor and tighten.

  • Press the old cover into the mirror. Press all the way around so that all catches engage.

  • Connect the wiring to the old mirror glass.

  • Ensure that the white damper blades align in their grooves.

  • Press the mirror glass into place.

  • Remove the cable with the lamp holder from the mirror.

  • Insert a bulb from the kit into the holder.

  • Take the lamp glass from the kit and press the bulb holder with bulb into the glass.

  • Install the lamp glass with lamp into the mirror.

  • Reinstall the new mirror.

  • Connect the connectors and reinstall the wire for the door opener.

  • Hook the panel into place and tighten with the two screws.

  • Press the upper section of the door handle into place.

  • Press the surrounding clips into place.

  • Reinstall the inner cover of the mirror.

  • Repeat all steps for the other side.

  • Remove the cover plug to the 12V socket.

  • Carefully remove the panel for the keypad using a scriber with angled tip. Pull out one corner of the panel using the scriber until the catches release. It is secured with three catches on each long side. Continue to pull along the panel until all catches have released.

  • Remove the dummy button and install the new switch (1) in any available position.

  • Reinstall the surround and the cover plug.
