These installation instructions show installation on left hand drive cars.

When installing on right-hand drive cars, perform the procedures on the opposite side and/or mirrored.

Where the procedure differs, the right-hand version is also shown with text and image.

Color symbols

1. Used for focused component, the component with which you will do something.

2. Used as extra colors when you need to show or differentiate additional parts.

3. Used for attachments that are to be removed/installed. May be screws, clips, connectors, etc.

4. Used when the component is not fully removed from the vehicle but only hung to the side.

5. Used for standard tools and special tools.

6. Used as background color for vehicle components.

Vehicles with roof opening panel

Measure and mark as illustrated.

Measure and mark as illustrated.

Removal

All vehicles

Set the ignition key to position 0.

Remove the screws.

Remove the screws.

Tightening torque: M6 , 10 Nm

Repeat the steps when removing on opposite side.

Remove the panel.

Remove the weatherstrip.

Vehicles with roof opening panel

All vehicles

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the screws.

Adjust the seat to center position so that the seat fastening bolts can be removed.

Remove the screws.

Remove the screws.

Disconnect the connector.

Vehicles without rear passenger entertainment system (RSE)

Disconnect the connectors.

All vehicles

Unhook the clip(s).

Remove the screws.

Tightening torque: M6 , 10 Nm

Remove the screws.

Detach the panel.

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the panel.

Remove the screws.

Remove the screws.

Disconnect the connector.

Unhook the cable harness clips.

Accessory installation

Fold the carpet aside.

Use special tool: T9814116, Cylindrical knife

Install the catch.

Connect the connector.

Turn once.

Tear off the excess foam tape.

Adjust the position of the wiring harness.

Installation

Repeat the steps when installing on opposite side.

Reinstall the screws.

Removal

Remove the panel.

Fold the carpet aside.

Unhook the cable harness clips.

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the panel.

Remove the screws.

Remove the screws.

Cars with manual transmissions

Release the catch which is located inside the gear lever boot.

Pull the locking sleeve and gear lever boot down. Take care so that the boot does not come loose from the lock ring.

Cars with automatic transmissions

Release the shift-lock function.

All vehicles

Remove the panel.

Remove the screws.

Vehicles with DVD-player

Disconnect the connector.

Attach the connector to the wiring harness.

Use: , Electrical tape

The connector is not to be used.

All vehicles

Disconnect the connectors.

Use special tool: T9997390, Key

Remove the panel.

Remove the screws.

Disconnect the connector.

Attach the connector to the wiring harness.

Use: , Electrical tape

The connector is not to be used.

Disconnect the connectors.

Accessory installation

Locate the existing connector in the vehicle's cable harness.

Connect the cable harness.

Turn once.

Tear off the excess foam tape.

Locate the existing connector in the vehicle's cable harness.

Connect the cable harness.

Turn once.

Tear off the excess foam tape.

Use special tool: T9814089, Anti-static strap

A click confirms that the component is in the correct position.

Tighten the cable tie.

Installation

Connect the prerouted cable.

Connect the connectors.

Remove the tool.

Vehicles with DVD-player

Connect the prerouted cable.

Vehicles without DVD-player

Attach the connector to the wiring harness.

Use: , Electrical tape

The connector is not to be used.

All vehicles

Connect the connectors.

Reinstall the removed part.

Reinstall the screws.

Accessory installation

Remove the protective film.

Fold the insulation aside.

Note that the part's double-sided tape will only be partially attached to the surface.

Refit the insulation.

Vehicles with diesel engines

All vehicles

Measure and mark as illustrated.

Deburr the hole edges.

Connect the connectors.

Reinstall the removed parts in reverse order.

Download software (application) for the accessory's function according to the service information in VIDA.

Order and download software according to: 31399175

Place the manual for this accessory in a suitable location in the car.

Check

1. Turn on the ignition.

2. Press the button marked "Media".

3. Choose Sensus Connected Touch in the menu.

4. Reply YES to the question "DO YOU ALLOW THE GPS POSITIONING DATA TO BE USED?"

5. The Sensus Connected Touch start menu should show.

6. Move your finger from right to left over the display. Start from the inner edge of the display.

7. A new menu should now show.

8. Turn off the ignition.

System check

Follow the instructions on www.volvocars.com/sct-update and check if the system is equipped with the latest software. If not, follow the instructions to carry out update.

Applies when the customer has chosen map information for navigation

Removal

Does not apply to vehicles for the Chinese market.
